I’m Back!!

Standard

You can tell it’s summer…I have a little time on my hands! So much has happened in the past year. The big news is that I retired last month after 37 years of teaching. I plan to continue in the field in education in an encore career presenting workshops and doing a bit of writing. Stay tuned! More information to follow.

In the meantime, I wanted to share my Pinterest Gifted and Talented Resources page. Almost 400 people follow it. Lots of resources here for grades K-8. Check it out!

Hello world!

Standard

Welcome and stay tuned! My name is Tammi Pittaro. This blog will be mostly about teaching kids who have been identified as potentially gifted and talented in elementary and middle schools.  I use the term “potentially” because we are all works in progress and all students have gifts and talents to share.

Am I right-brained?  Left-brained?  Depends on the moment and situation! I presently teach and coordinate a pull-out program for over 100 identified students in grades 1 through 8 in the three schools in the Upper Township School District, Cape May County, N.J, which definitely calls for both. I privately tutor quite a bit as well. My experience is in all grades and subjects, but mainly elementary. I love to teach language arts, math, science and social studies in creative and motivating ways, all infused with technology and lots of critical thinking skills.  I have a special interest in getting kids organized for scholastic and personal success in the classroom.  Having taught for the past 35 years, I have many “tricks” up my sleeve to share with you!
